Extra Credit

I believe I deserve a grade of either an A or B in INDS430 because I have managed to make the corrections on every assignment in which you have given. I feel that there has been no given grade rubric in which we could compare ourselves to at the beginning of the year. My progress in this class has been amazing and I feel that I should be graded on my advancement on the technology usage in this course. Overall, I feel that I have earned either and A or B in this course.

These are the assignments in which I have been graded on:

#1
#2
#3
#4
#5

There have been several other assignments in which I have completed and submitted in which I have not been graded on. I have looked at others and their assignments look exactly like mine. I do not feel like this should effect my grade if they have not been read or graded.

HTWFAIP

Principle 1: If you must find fault, this is the way to begin:
The first principle I applied was a few days ago at a local sub shop. I often go to this store with my team after games it has become a tradition. Since we usually go to the same shop,it has allowed the workers and I to become more then a familiar face. This week after our double header we went to the same place and began to order food, as we made our way to the cash register I had noticed that something was not right with my bill. I did not overreact or make a big scene, but I decided to apply the first principle. I started by using Mrs.Yu's name and pointed out that something didn't seem rite on my bill. She had noticed the same mistake. She thanked me for pointing out the miscalculations and apologized for her mistake.

Principle 3: Talk about your own mistakes first:
The second principle that I applied was with our new team trainer. In the weight room we have several areas in which we are getting remodeled and it seems to be a huge hassle not only for the athletes but the workers as well. I noticed that Fred was having trouble getting the pull down machine to adjust to his liking. So he kept fiddling with it but then the medal adjuster had snapped and came off. To his excitement he looked around to see if anyone had noticed because he felt very embarrassed. Instead of calling him out I decided to use the principle from HTMFAIP and talked with my trainer about a similar mistake I made when I was a freshman. Not only did I embarrass myself, but I made him feel a little less nervous and more welcomed to our program.

Be a Leader

This weekend I was able to get home for a little down time with the family. I was not planning on using the tactics from HTWFNIP,but a situation occurred where I was able to take advantage of this opportunity. My sister and I are six years apart and fight non-stop, but this weekend she seemed to be very nice and appreciated me helping her with basketball. I started out by asking her how her season was going for AAU and she started to explain that her outside shot kept hitting rim. Once I shot around with her for a while I used the rule of the two yes's. I had asked if she was shooting past the rim, and she replied yes. I then asked if she was keeping her elbow up and following through, she also replied yes! I just so happened to make a comment about her bending her knees when she was shooting, and she didn't take it as a critic or order, but decided to make an adjustment and soon after she was hitting every outside shot. Therefore, I told her to keep up the good work and wished her good luck before leaving to return to school.

FYI--- Sunday afternoon she had a game and hit four 3's and had 21 points!!!!
